We’re Celebrating 20 Years in 2026.
Where Black literary joy takes center stage.
Established in 2006, the Austin African American Book Festival is a vibrant celebration of Black literature, culture, and community. Each year, we welcome some of the most influential writers of our time and showcase new and emerging voices.
From powerful author talks and thought-provoking panels to engaging children’s programming, the AAABF offers something for every reader.
Now approaching our 20th anniversary in 2026, the festival continues to be a gathering place, a learning space and a legacy-building tradition. It’s where readers and writers connect, ideas are exchanged, and the stories that shape us are honored and shared.
Together, we celebrate a rich African American literary tradition and help pass it on to future generations.
Thank you to our 2025 Sponsors & Supporters.
